Roman prints
#1
Hi all,

Could anyone tell me if the prints shown on this website are from a book? It's called the St.Petersburg Collection, which I thought was associated with Military modelling.
Is AeroArt a (re)seller or are these pictures from some book on Roman military history?
That also always wondered me. I haven´t seen these pictures anywhere else...
-------------------------------------------------------
Rome did not create a great empire by having meetings -- they did it by killing all those who opposed them.
I would rather have fire storms of atmospheres than this cruel descent from a thousand years of dreams.

I have the Aeroart prints. They're high quality and look very nice when framed. The Aeroart artists are Russian, like the St Petersburg collection painters. Ergo the connection.
The "Roman Tribune" (#12) must of had a hard life.

Perhaps it is just the effect of having a cornicern of the Legio XIIII directing his cornu blasts at the tribune's ear.
He looks an awful lot like Vespasian, if you ask me...
