Pontoise History Vivante market 19th-20th November
#1
Hello All,

just thought I'd ask who might be going to the History Vivante event near Paris in November...

I am doing a rideshare with another trader and will be doing my first formal trading event in a designated history/re-enactment market - I'm not sure where I will be situated, but please come by and say hello and introduce yourself.. I'm alway looking forward to meeting fellow RATers...

Items I'll be stocking are:

Some clothing from Bronze Age to Sub Roman (Including the usual tunics in our exclusive cloth)
Naturally dyed 100% wool cloth and garments
Beads from Phoenician to Friesian
Bronze Age to Roman leatherwork
Wool care Lanolin products
Sheepskins

Cheers Smile
and a whole lot more - including some new stuff I have been busy developing of late

Sounds fun! How does the Paris market compare with TORM and the UK markets?

I'm not entirely sure as I haven't been to one yet! It was recommended to me by the people I am car sharing with however and they have been back to trade there a couple of times and the organisers, I'm told are really nice people.

I will report back - there seems to be a nice spread of European traders from lots of different countries and I like to see how people are doing things on the continent Smile

I'll also be taking some prehistoric items to see how they go down there - not sure what the dominant timeline is, but I'm sure we will find out

Hope your trading goes well. This gives a general overview of what groups there are in France.

Hi Claire,

I shall be there with fellow members of Letavia Smile
I hope we will have the pleasure to talk a bit and buy some of your products (and further talk about that sagum's project of mine!).

Someone you need to meet at all costs is my friend Illanua. He is swiss, he does some beautiful ceramics, all made according archaeological based methods. And he is quite cheap given the quality of his produces. See his blog:

Otherwise Pontoise market have a lot of medieval stuff, and a wide choice of viking age stuff from the eastern merchants and craftsmen. It's usually very noisy, hot and full of people; and everyone have to run everywhere to buy what he needs and talk to whom he wants. Quite exhausting! But I almost never miss it.

Thats really cool Ben, I look forward to meeting you!

I am trying to get a banner made up with my logo and details..

I'll be bringing along a few pieces, including some more cloaks with the hand stitched reconstructions of 4th and 5th century coptic panels Smile

Included in this will be some nice later plain and embellished tunics too

I look forward to meeting all of the Letavians
