Archaeology: Roman Column Painted in Light

I thought this was very interesting. Using lasers to "paint" ancient monuments (i.e., Trajan's Column) to their original bright colors. I had not heard about this earlier, though the article was published in 2008. (I must have been napping!)

quite ... surprising. But yet surely, we all know paint was used on building etc, but the column too, huh.

Yes. I knew about the temples and statues being painted, but not the column. Must have been a wonderful sight in its day.
