for those of You, who receive German TV, 2 tips for this weekend:<br>

- Saturday, May 1st, on Phoenix, 21.30, "Rome's Limes in the Orient" - Seried "Schliemann's inheritance" includes a documentation about late Roman fortresses in the Arabian desert, very informative, some towers, walls and gates are still several meters high.<br>
<br>
- Sunday, May 2nd, on ZDF, 19.30, "Imperium - 1. A fight for Rome" - start of a series of 4 parts.<br>
<br>
Both documentation 45 minutes.<br>

I saw "Imperium - 1. A fight for Rome" last sunday and have to say that this show really contained some of the worst costumes I've ever seen:<br>

I always wonder, where they get that trash from, not that the helmets shown were so wrong, furthermore they were too small and did not really fit. I hope, You saw the report about Rome's limes in the orient, too - it was a better documentation.<br>

Man.....with all these 'bad' shows lingering around and all that sort of 'misinformation' and wrong portrayals.....I'd suggest that Roman re-enactment groups put out videos on the different periods of the Roman army. Hell, even if not on budget I bet they'll come out better than the stuff I've seen on TV. I mean if it's done in the martial arts circles why not the Roman ones? *shrugs* <p></p><i></i>

While I understand why every single Roman soldier we ever see in the media looks like he just stepped out of one of Trajan's Legions, I would *love* to see small units of Legionaries from say 150 BC to 450 AD, at 100 year intervals, just standing next to each other -- done properly by the re-enactor community.<br>
