Greek Hoplite full body armor
#1
Hello,
did anyone know someting about a "full body armor" like it seems it could be here:
http://www.trentu.ca/faculty/rfitzsimons...007-03.htm

Personaly I like the idea of having the unprotected(uncovered by shield) arm protected by
aditional armor, as well if you count how heavy was the shield, just from medical perspective it would make sence, as the disbalance of left hand to right hand would on long term kill your spine...(but that is just my speculation)
A well the forearm protector is something that I would find in battle usefull

I have a friend who hopes to make this kit (one day) and go out fighting with a falx
Obviously it is archaic period and would be brilliant to have...
I hope to at least make the foot armour and will have one shoulder guard (3/4 finished)

Good luck
Richard

I also like the idea of unprotected parts covered with armour!

Thank you Stefanos, great kit!
I am surprised at the size of the groin protectors, I always imagined them as a smaller set of plates!

Thansk for the links as well!

this is only "exotic" type of groin protectors.

There were smaller ones too.

The trick is to correctly fit this accessories on us.
We are still in the learning process.

Kind regards.

Thanks, yes, fit of armour is a learning process, also in the Roman side of things! :-)
