Chillingham Castle/ Dilston Castle
#1
Just a quick one to say the galleries for the Chillingham and Dilston events should be up now. http://comitatus.net/photos2011.html

Events come thick and fast this time of year, so there is little time to update the website.

The Chillingham photos displayed on the website are a fraction of what we hold. The camera was really taking a snap every few seconds during the displays and it is fascinating to view every little movement of the riders and the horses and they do their runs. And the perfromance of different weapons and weapon profiles.

But there are also some funny shots of when things go wrong.

Make sure you are holding the javelin pointing the right way.......

but it does not really matter that much........

and don't drop the javelin....

but you can still kick it into the infantryman....

Dliston was a much smaller event with a castle to play in. This is Byron roughing it in a dog tent.

and we got to see the new Vindolanda museum.

We held a joint 40th and 50th birthday party there. Some unusual clothing was worn and a great time was had.
