If you've got some of those straw hats left and we are lucky with the weather I think you could do well Wink ,or waxed cloaks if rain Wink

We are not now that strength which in old days
Moved earth and heaven; that which we are, we are
One equal temper of heroic hearts,
Made weak by time and fate, but strong in will
To strive, to seek, to find, and not to yield.

I will bring straw hats and waterproofed cloaks and waterproofing too...

Anyone who needs a tunic for the event - I should have some plain ones made up for you to add your own decoration - or of course you can have me make a complete one for you made to measure Smile

Well seeming as I literally live down the road I decided to pop down to see what was going on. I haven't been to Murton since I was a kid so it was interesting to go back.

Murton Park certainly is a nice little venue with a farming museum, trains, Viking Village, Roman Fort and various animals for petting!

There was interesting group, only just newly formed, called 'A Moment In Time' who allow indivduals who all have interests in different periods to join under one group. A sort of eclectic mix of reenactors. They were very jolly and had lots of info about their equipment to inpart Big Grin

I went watch the roman displays but probably due to quiet numbers not much seemed to happen until the afternoon. It was interesting to see members of newly formed 'Romanorum' going through their paces, though there didn't seem to be much activity on the front of roman textiles, story telling etc. A shame, but maybe there will be more of that tomorrow?...
