That is a gorgeous manuscript... I wish I had a poster of that first page of the Gallic Wars.

Absolutely stunning! How sad it is that we no longer value books enough to spend so much time making them beautiful.
I suppose it is far too much to hope that anyone might ever produce a facsimile of this manuscript which did not cost a king's ransom. I would love to be able to retire my much loved but decrepit paperback Caesar in favour of a facsimile copy but I don't think I could ever afford it. Do you know if there is any plan to photograph the entire manuscript in order for it to be able to be displayed (albeit in an inferior form) online, in the same way as has been done with Vegetius and De Rebus Bellicus? It would certainly be wonderful to be able to see more of it. Crispvs

It is indeed beautiful, and it waould be amazing if a copy were available, as Crispus says, at an affordable price!
