It is of course a bit early for this question, but how do you plan to maintain the structure once it's built? The 50k is a one-off, but once the fort is erected it will incur ongoing costs. Do you have plans for covering those?

Charging a buck or two admission would be cheap enough that people wouldn't really mind paying it. The only question is whether there would be enough traffic to keep up with costs...

Maybe a dinner event of some kind once a month?

Sounds like an awesome idea! Sorry I was late to vote. Well, schools would bring some nice traffic, tots, a pound, over 12, 2 pounds. 50 kids to a group, 200 pounds, 2 ounds 50 a kid... W HOLE EXTRA 50 POUNDS! for the cost of 50 pence! psh, GOOD LUCK! not that you'll need it, it is a dream come true :mrgreen:

also another idea, getting groups to perform for an audience would be great, stand on guard, and a little look into the barracks of a Roman legionaries life is like, wow. Plus, the reenactors get to sleep there ! ...add to the warmth of war :-D
