Yes. Apparently he had non-Hodgkins lymphoma, a kind of blood cancer. Could be that, or treatment, weakened his condition / immunity system.
Then again, even healthy people should not ignore a pneumonia too long...
Sad to hear it, by the way. His very obvious, almost joyous love for the subject matter of his documentaries was very catching. May he equally enjoy the company of the warriors of old in the afterlife.
