Byzantine and Sasanian POWs
#1
After the Battle of Badr, Muhamad ordered the execution of all POWs - quite an innovation in military tactics, because POWs were usually sold. I was wondering if there are examples of this cruel decision in the great war between Byzantium and the Sasanians. Anyone any thoughts?
