Archaic Allies and Enemies
#1
I wonder if anyone could suggest sources for the appearance and military organisation of those peoples of the near east encountered by the Greeks in the archaic era?

What would the Lydian army that Alyattes led against Miletus have looked like, for example?

Would the Neo-Babylonians of Nebuchanezzar have resembled the Assyrian army from the siege of Lachish, as depicted on the British Museum frieze? Or would they have been more like the early Persians?

Is there any information on the appearance of the Egyptian troops of Pharoah Psammetichus, that invaded Kush alongside the Carian and Ionian mercenaries in c.591?

This isn't my usual subject area, so this may be a rather broad question, but any help would be most appreciated!
