Hasta Dimensions
#1
Hi -

Anyone have measurements on the size of the archaeological remains of Roman hasta heads?

Well, have a look at Bishop & Coulston - Roman militairy equipment, 2nd edition. Finds from different periods are discussed in there. Next you could also look up specific find reports for local examples if you know which area and period you're interested in.

Excellent - thank you. I should have been more specific. I am particularly interested in 1st-2nd Centry AD hasta as may have been used by auxilliary soldiers serving with the legions. I have had several people inquire about the possibility of my blacksmith shop making them and I am in need of dimensions and illustrations.
