Roman and Germanic Days at Kalkriese
#1
Hi,

I'm a 1st cen. AD Germanic reenactor from Canada, and I was interested in participating in the 'Roman and Germanic Days' (Roemer und Germanentage) at the Varusschlacht-Kalriese Museum this summer. Who would I get in contact with in order to participate in this great event? I already have my full Germanic kit, and I will be able to make an authentic shield once I get to Germany (overhead compartments on planes were not designed with shields in mind).

thanks,

Dan

I think it's rather hard to get 'in there' as a lonely person. Better to find a local group who goes there and ask them if you could join them for that weekend.

I agree, it is probably the best way to link with a reenactment-group that is already taking part in the event. If you like I can try to help you getting in touch with people here in Germany.

If you want to get into contact with the museum, address your request to Ms. Ariane Hanselmann, who's in charge of organizing the festival:

Here are the links to some of the groups I can imagine taking part in this event:

Thank you so much! I was hoping someone could help me out with this! Andreas, could you get me in contact with some Germanic reenactors in Germany? I will probably also contact the museum and see if there are any legal wavers (or something like that) that i have to fill out before I can participate.
