There are a number of extant pila from Alesia with spiked tang, trapezoidal collar and single rivet......see for example Peter Connolly's article and scale drawings in "The Pilum from Marius to Nero" which appeared in JRMES 12-13 in 2001, and has subsequently been published several other places ( e.g. Oxbow books, Amazon apparently still has one copy of JRMES 12-13 in stock)....
If you search here on RAT, you'll find a thread called "Unusual Pilum type" in which Duncan Campbell recently published ( Oct 2010) Connolly's drawings from JRMES 8 (1997) of Alesia spiked tang varieties...with a "cm" scale bar at the bottom.....
