Canakkale Persian armour reconstruction

Hey Jan, here are a few. You have a some great work on Deviantart. For what my opinion is worth- that may not be much on this topic- I think this is simply the high collared, wide shoulder-flapped armor, made of various base materials, that will be seen on the steppes from the Ukraine to Korea until the modern era. The one major difference is Pteryges instead of large overlapping panels covering the lower edge. The first image is a quilted version from the Medieval steppes.

A Spartan, being asked a question, answered "No." And when the questioner said, "You lie," the Spartan said, "You see, then, that it is stupid of you to ask questions to which you already know the answer!"

Thanks! I certainly thought of such a quilted armour.
Interesting how some of the depictions show sleeves and some show more of a sleeveless vest.

By the way, Duncan, if you missed it I found a new photo of the Achaemenid relief in Kurdistan which C.T. Edmonds described in 1934. Its linked from here.

I have not checked this forum frequently since 2013, but I hope that these old posts have some value. I now have a blog on books, swords, and the curious things humans do with them.
