Didrachm question
#1
The didrachm silver coin was one of the main coins in 3rd C. BC Italy. For all you Greek scholars, what is the plural of this word?
Many thanks in advance.

May sound silly, but people just write "didrachms". (Or are you actually calling it by its Greek name, didrachmôn? In which case, didrachma is the plural, as Stefanos said.)

Thanks, Duncan. Faced with the wealth of different spellings, and the awkward didrachmon as the singular, I just went for "didrachm" and "didrachms". Confusedhock:
It's a strange thing, isn't it, that right until deep into the 2nd Punic War, the Romans were using their own minted coins, but with a Greek value (didrachm). It wasn't until the advent of the denarius in 211 BC, that the first really "Roman" coin made its appearance on the scene - or so says my Oxford Classical Dictionary.
