\"Song of Wrath\" by J.E. Lendon
#1
Has anyone read "Song of Wrath: The Peloponnesian War Begins" by J. E. Lendon? It's available at Amazon, looks very interesting and has gotten rave reviews from the likes of Paul Cartledge, Barry Strauss, and Donald Kagan (among others). I'm hoping to get fellow RAT members' opinions before I buy...

Thanks!

Just finished reading this book - definitely worth a look for Greek enthusiasts (or anyone interested in history for that matter). It gives a whole new perspective of the first ten years of the Peloponnesian War. Lendon's writing style is very engaging - narrative worthy of a master story-teller yet definitely a scholarly work. Background knowledge of the Peloponnesian War is definitely helpful.

Sorry I'm too lazy to post a proper review :-D, but just wanted to recommend this to everyone.
