Google Scholar any good?
#1
Evidently Google Scholar has been around for years, but I just stumbled across it recently. What does everyone think of it?

Going alphabetically with some authors, I tried to see how it worked: Alföldi, Beard and Cornell.

To me, it looks to be pretty hit-and-miss. For instance, Cornell's search results look good, but Beard's newest book isn't even on the front page. Perhaps I need to play with the search criteria to get better results.

Have you used? Is it any good?

Wow -- that is good. Thanks, Jurjen.

And informative. I discovered that one of my reviews is quoted on the Brill web site. Confusedhock: OK, I admit that I searched for my own name, but only after trying Alföldy and Beard!
