What did Greek intellectuals of the Imperial period think about the romans and Roman rule? Are there any researches on this theme?

Oh yes, many. The book to read is Simon Swain's Hellenism and Empire (1996). Relevant is also E.L. Bowie, "Greeks and their Past in the Second Sophistic", in Past and Present 46 (1970) 3-41. Bowie's point is that the Second Sophistic was the Greek intellectuals' way to claim cultural superiority now that they had lost power to Rome. This may be inspired by British attitudes towards the USA, but that does not mean that the point is incorrect.
