De Rei Militari
#1
Hi All,

Just joined today and for quite some time I have been looking for a copy of Part 4 (Siege, defence etc) of De Rei Militari but I have never been able to find a copy. Does anyone know if a copy actually exisits somewhere?

Thanks

If it's the full Vegetius translation your after then you need to buy Milner's translation, freely available from Amazon at the moment.

Milner is only a translation - if you need the parallel Latin text and (slightly literal) English translation, you may be able to find Stelton's edition:

Flavius Vegetius Renatus. Epitoma rei militaris. Edited with an English translation by Leo F. Stelten. New York: Lang 1990 [ISBN 9780820414034]

Alternatively, the entire Latin text is freely available on the web.

Unfortunately my latin is pretty poor. Only started learning it this year but had to put it off for a while.

I found the Milner book on Google Books that you mentioned however it only contains parts 1 & 2.

I can assure you that Milner's book has the translations of the siege and naval warfare sections included.
