What is the difference between the terms "polemology" and "military history"? Are there any theoretical articles on this subject?

Quote:What is the difference between the terms "polemology" and "military history"?Polemology appears to be a fairly recent development (by the late Professor Bernard Röling?) studying "the causes of war", rather than military history per se. Search for articles by Jean Pictet.

Interesting. But Morillos s and Pevcovic s book "what is military history" says that there is no military history withour the research of the reasons of wars, political and diplomatical aspects of war etc.
