Killer of Men by Christian Cameron
#1
Folks,

I just finished reading, "Killer of Men," the first book of Christian Cameron's new historical series, "The Long War," is now out!

It tells the tale of Arimnestos, a boy from Green Plataea, who is both caught up in the Greek and Persian wars, and is a great piece of historical fiction and a vivid depiction of the life in ancient Greece. It has a great balance of plot and character development mixed with vivid action sequences that combine to have you reading into the wee small hours.

I cannot recommend it highly enough. It is available in the UK now, and in October in Canada!

Enjoy!

Reading the book you'll have perhaps the best insight into Archaic greek world that you've ever had by any historical or fictional book. You'll read about real people,or you'll think they are,by the end of the book - so deep are the characters Christian has created. It's impressive how complete is the world that he describes, without his language being descriptive, and the detail on the accuracy reaches every bit that he touches. After all he's done his job in research, history and re-enacting!
You'll be full of action, brutality and reality, but in its base this is a deeply philosophical book.
You'll dislike the main character in the way you dislike yourselves, which in the end means you'll love him!
I'm not really a good book reviewer, but i have seen many dawns and even more while reading this book.
Greatly recommended to everyone.
