"Der Limes: Gefahr an Roms Grenze" ("The Limes: Danger on Rome's Frontier"): another fine documentary from ZDF (In German, but even if you can't speak the language, there's still much to be gained from watching). Available at http://bit.ly/dec3jr

Incredible cinematography. Enough of the film was self-explanatory to make it worthwhile. Understanding the narration would have made it even better.

Thank you for posting it.

Yes, I thought that was rather enjoyable (and even - shock horror - informative!) so I shall add my thanks. On an 'if you liked that you'll love this' basis, elsewhere on the ZDF website is this little interactive bundle of fun (rather Flash-heavy so if your only link to the interwebs is through an iPad... get a Jobs-deprecated netbook ;-) ) ). Complete with short videos (loved the stills of Kaiser Bill and the opening of the Saalburg) a great way to waste some time when you're supposed to be writing an article that is already weeks late... oops!

I loved the Sword of Tiberius scabbard and the weapon that emerges from it!
