Salve....is that OK?

Thirty years ago I read about this book and tried to get it...no success.

Recently got it through Amazon at a fancy price. I think it's unique as a source.

Any other opinions?

Salve,
Ares has reissued a number of older works on which more modern studies build further, notably those of Parker, Cheesman and Starr. There has nevertheless been made some progress in studies over the years in a number of fields and it is advisable to take such recent publications into account rather than relying solely on older works.

Cheesman, G.L., The auxilia of the Roman imperial army (Oxford 1914) 192p.
Parker, H.M.D., The Roman legions (rev. ed.) (Cambridge 1958) 296p
Starr, C.G., The Roman imperial navy (New York 1941) 228p.

Thank you Sanders, I have the Goldsworthy and Davis books. I see that Amazon have the Cheesman "Roman Auxilia" on sale for $15 US.
