Thracian Helmet and Boetian shield
#16
Sorry for digging this post up, but instead of writing a new one, since this is still valid thought would just dig it back up.

Had to drop this idea for a couple of years, but now getting back to it and started looking up the Thyreos type shield. So looked it up, and I am taking this would be appropriate for a 4th century personna. http://www.flickr.com/photos/koryvantes/5397273975/

So a Thracian, a Thyreos shield and now trying to narrow down the body armor. There was a deepeeka linothorax, with scales going across the midsection, that I liked, but no idea how appropriate it is. I actually thru a trade had picked up about 2000 of those scales in the steel version, in a trade, so was looking to use those.

Thanks for all the help.

While square shields appear in Geometric Art the Thyreos appear in in the Helelnistic period 300 to 146 B.C. Theres seem to be only oval thyreoi in the Helenistic art though.

Kind regards
