Representing auxiliary cavalry vexilla
#1
So, I'm painting an Imperial Roman army (c. 1st century CE) and I am a bit stuck. I have two turmae of auxiliary cavalry and eash has a vexillum. What should I paint on them? I know sources are very scarce but I have seen ALA AVG painted on others, representing Augusta. I am basing this army in Palestine so have found out that I Flavia Agrippiana and II Flavia Agrippiana, amongst others, were two of the auxiliary cavalry alae there. How might I represent this on their vexilla?
