Astonishing, and wonderful to see how many turned out. Was there a military camp pitched?

Probably my best re-enactment experience ever. That was really, really awesome for everything.

I guess this is likely the biggest late roman gathering to the date: if I'm not wrong, up to 80 fighters on the field.

Thanks again to Britannia and Matt for the top level organisation and the invitation!

We wanted more a settlement/vicus feel to the camp, rather than an overtly military one, as there were quite a few women and children present as well. We had woodworkers, a blacksmith, a popina, a painter and a number of other splendid civilian activities as well as some excellent military ones. Contuburnium Primum's encampment was particularly noteworthy (and I'm not just saying that because they fed me with imperialist tidbits on a regular basis).

Hi everybody !

Back at home early this morning, we delivered Alain's gift at home yesterday evening and got back home late through Normandy and then Britanny with some stars in the eyes. Probably my greatest reenactment event, thank you all for everything it was simply briliant, amazing. I really enjoyed to discuss with people who have not the same reenactment culture and really more experience than we do have. It's really worthy to progress. First pictures are really impressive. Ours will be more "camplife" style.

Please take care to Matt (we can send "chouchen" to help him recover more quickly), we need him for a next event as soon as possible !

And Wurstwasser to everybody !

Bye ! I simply go to bed now.

Hi,

it was an honor to be allowed to be a part of it.
This Event was the best since we started the Late Roman Period.
We ( the Contubernium Primum ) have made many new friends.
We find many people we have seen in the internet before, now in real life.
We all visited Stonehenge summer solstice :-) ) .
Some of us do not leave the island and make a Holiday Trip for a week.
The rest is back at home. We arrived yesterday night.
I´m a part of the RAT Forum for a long time and i´m am interested reader, but to write in english is not so easy for me. Sorry

Many thanks to the organizers and participants.
I hope we meet again.

And thanks again Chris for the good fight, the bacon, the rings and the armring! It was a real pleasure to have your family as tent neighbors Big Grin
