Unless I missed the scale altogether, that trail didn't look wide or level enough for a travel coach like that one... :?:

Great site. Looks like . . fun.
How will you get materials to the site? Will you use native stone? Hard to believe you have permission to dig up that hillside. :?
Too bad there's this big pond between us.

Hi Ron!
We used native stone, mostly that of the original road. We had permission, in fact were asked to conduct the experiment by the National Park Hohentauern and the University of Vienna. The area we built on was already completely excavated in the 70ies by Prof. Dr. Lippert. We got all materials on site by hand and feet... ^^
Here two more pics: (date was set wrong in the camera)

Is the snow gone?
The work looks to be of excellent standard.
Too bad you cannot do the entire road.

I think so. When we went down last friday it had started thawing again.

Snow? What's that? We're to "enjoy" 100 degree (37.8 C) temperatures today.
I assume you camped on site. Did you do that modern or ancient style?

Ancient style. With ancient food etc.
Simon and I couldnĀ“t wear contact lenses, due to the strong wind, and the second construction day I ordered modern boots to be worn, since the nails were too dangerous on the flat gneiss plates.
