Alopekis pattern
#1
Greetings,
I am trying to give representation of a Thracian Warrior for a school demo, and I was wondering if anyone out there knew of a Thracian (Alopekis) cap pattern. I want to put one together from wool or wool felt, but I could use a good reference point.
Thank you,
Longhunter

Just a note, alopeke is not the pointy cap that so often the vases show. It is a fox fur cap,a bit more rare in vases but still present. It also had its tale hanging in the back. The actual name "alopeke" is the greek for fox skin.

Thanks for the information, it seems my research was in error. I guess what I would need then is the pattern or a contact point for someone who makes the cloth style....More of a Phyrgian cap with the ears and tail!

Thanks,
