Hello to all
I am proud to introduce Desperta Ferro, a new Spanish magazine devoted to the Political and Military History of Antiquity and the Middle Ages.
The magazine will be available in September, but you can visit our website (despertaferro-ediciones.com) to gather more information and download for free issue #0 (a reduced 12-page sample of the magazine). Issue #0 contains a single article devoted to the Battle of Châlons by Simon MacDowall, as an introduction to our issue #1, 60 full-colour pages devoted to the Fall of Rome.
Sadly, at the moment, both the website and issue #0 are only available in Spanish. In any case, it would be lovely if you could pay a visit and at least enjoy the beautiful illustrations and maps.

Hello,
A very interesting project!
We need such kind of work in spanish lenguage. Of course, we have Gladius, but seems that "Desperta ferro" is a little more didactic, and addresed not only to the scientific comunity.
I wish you the best luck and promise to send you some contribution.

Thank you very much for your kind words. You´re right, the public we aim to is broader than the Gladius one; I think there is a growing demand for quality history publications in spanish, hope we can fill that gap.
We're gonna present DESPERTA FERRO at Tarraco Viva, on saturday 29th May, so perhaps we can meet there. And of course we'll be happy to consider your contribution.

Divus Augustus is helping us in closing our first issue, with a wonderful cover depicting a magister militum and two bucelarii
