I've been trying to find some reference to the immunes. More precisely, I wanted to know whether the auxiliary cohorts or alae had that position in their units. It seems to be (from Graham Webster's The Roman IMperial Army) a position of craftsmen, builders and tradesmen, and I was under the impression that the auxiliaries left all of that kind of thing to the legions ...

I think it can be confirmed that Auxiliaries also had their craftsmen and other metal workers, for we find that many Roman forts along Hadrians' Wall show where gate towers have been converted into workshops also Kilns put in place against fort walls therefore it might well be suggested that they must also have had their Immunes systems.
