Sure, I'll even throw in piano accompanyment. Any particular key?

Hey, wait a minute. I say forget this big battle re-enactment gathering thing you guys are planning. We should all get together and do a huge Roman Musical!!! We can all meet on Broadway in New York, say in 2005. Hibernicus can write the script. Once the script is ready, we'll decide on casting and send out instruction packages. And if you can't sing, start taking lessons NOW 'cause faking it will NOT be allowed.
What if you're tone deaf? Can one still participate?

Is it also possible, to do the performance completely hammered? I seem to sing better drunk.
Magnus/Matt
Tib, you could have the part of the drunken Roman soldier who falls down a well. It's my understanding they did that from time to time. You could pop up and sing with the chorus occasionally.

p.s. You have no idea how hard it was for me to type this. I just marched in the city parade with the pipe band and then spent the afternoon in the Legion drinking beer. There is no emoticon to adequately illustrate how I feel right now.

The nicest thing I can say about Hibernicus' singing is that he has a great . . . . . . . . . .
enthusiasm. . . . . . . .
for singing. I think that it's safer if I leave it at that.
LEG IX HSPA - COH III EXPG - CEN I HIB
Ok, sounds good to me. Then in a few thousand years, they can reconstruct my head, to see what I look like. (sound familiar?)
Real Roman Musical Theatre performers DO NOT lip sync!!! If you are AFRAID to sing, then I guess we can find a place for you in the background as part of the scenery or something.

Sure sometimes there are minor injuries--strained vocal chords, bruises from rotten fruit hurled by the audience--but that's all part of it and we will have safety precautions in place.

Keep in mind that ANYONE can learn to sing! I have heard that over and over again from people trying to sell voice lessons!!!

Wendy

p.s. Tib, the cool thing about the druken soldier part is that if anyone questions the historical accuracy, we can whip out the reconstructed head and say, "Ha,ha, look at this! Concrete proof that the drunken-solider-who-fell-down-a-well
character is based on a real historical personage!"
