"um das Jahr 105 n.Chr., Kampfausrüstung, Legionär (?!) = ca. 105 BC , Fighting equipment, Legionary"
"Wie in den Dakerkriegen des Trajan ist dieser Legionär gerüstet. Zu einem Helm vom Typ Weisenau mit Kreuzbügeln auf der Schädelkalotte kommt ein Kettenhemd, unter dem ein Polstergewand mit Laschen (pteryges) sichtbar wird.
Der Armschutz am rechten Schwertarm ist eine neue Erfindung zum Schutz gegen die langen Krummschwerter der Daker. Rechteckschild, pilum, gladius vom Typ Pompeji am balteus und Dolch an einem Militärgürtel gehören zur Standardausrüstung."
Roughly translated =
"This legionary is eqipped as customary in Trajan's Dacian Wars. To a helmet of the Wesenau-type reinforced with crossbars on the skull a chain mail is used under which padded underwear with tabs (pteryges) is visible.
The protection of the sword-arm is an invention to counter the long-bladed curved sword of the Dacians (falx). Rectangular shield, pilum, a gladius of the Popeji-type and a dagger worn with a military-belt are standard equipment."
