ahh, see, I figured if were were diverging from Roman events, then we could just go right of topic.....

I'm pretty sure no N. American events have made it to Century size yet john...maybe about halfway there at best. The Castra site shows a group picture of 17, the RD has 21, and Lafe maybe has the most, but only because there is an equal number or maybe less of celts to go with the romans, so you're looking at 40-50. Not even close to a century.

I'm only counting 21 people there John lol. Not including civilians, but you did say "boots"...and it looks like two groups of 10+ people.
Part of the issue of getting us all to one spot is the great distances we have to travel...and really Lafe is the only site which has anything Roman on it which is in working order for a large event. We lack the small confines of Europe and the readily available access to sites.

Seems like we had about 60 or so at the movie trailer filming in Nashville, TN in 2004. I don't remember exactly, though. Maybe someone else remembers.

I was also at the Nashville, TN filming. There were about 70 soldiers in total - legionary troops - that would be a century allowing for one not at full paper strength. 40 of us formed a testudo under Dan Peterson's command. The Roman Days event of 2007 had rather less than a century of troops. The total number of Roman soldiers may have been into the low 30's, but Matt would likely know an exact count. The roped off area for the display was rather small and we broke the numbers up into "two centuries" due to space considerations. It was easier for two smaller blocks of troops to move about than one large mass.
