I liked it. Having read every book I can find on the battle, I can't give you any more specific details than that.

It looks to be an interesting read. I will have to dig now and see if I read it or it is languishing in the pile somewhere.....

Might be abit ot, but are there any good movies about this battle, or the life of hannibal barka perhaps?

Like this one I saw about napoleon while ago, was an old one, think from the 60's 70's believe it was called waterloo or so but for example the final battle was just amazing and I really like those kind of films, where you know there is no bullshit cg going on and stuff but nothing but real people fighting, and does anyone know more of these kind of films involving perhaps cannae (or any roman/greek movie at all ^^ I have the alexander director's cut and I think that movie has so far that I have seen the best phalanx battles ever, unlike the unrealistic 300 version which is still cool, but ... yeah)

This dramatisation of Hannibal's war on Rome is excellent, and the gear is pretty accurate:

To my knowledge, there's no film with Cannae in it, unfortunately. What a film it would make!
Fortunately, Vin Diesel seems to have given up on his quest to portray Hannibal. Thank all the gods. Triple XXX as the Barca! Confusedhock:

Yeah, I've seen a clip from that dvd I think about the battle of cannae, it is indeed very nicely done and gear seems pretty accurate indeed.

Hehe, vin diesel could still be in a hannibal movie, give the man an elephant costume ^^
