Price for used Robinson book.....?
#1
Ave!

I am looking into purchasing a used copy of Robinson's, "Armour of Imperial Rome". The book is in fine condition and has a good dust jacket. The person is asking $260-270 for it. Is this a good or fair price????
There've been some threads about secondhand copies of this book, and it's always very expensive. Is it reasonable? Well, that's your own call. Is there no way you could borrow the book and copy it?
Greets
Over the last year, I think someone on this board paid about $40 for a book at a yard sale, and someone that I know paid $250. This last one was $75Australian, but add in the air shipment cost. There have been several in the $200 range, so it depends on how patient you can be looking for a copy. I dont' know how many copies were in the first and only printing.
All my alerts come from Abebooks, so that's a good place to put this in a watch list.
Aulus
To get a Robinson time is crucial. Hence getting alerts from Abebooks and others who offer that service is the only way you'll have a chance of getting it.
As it happens, an Abebooks search turns up one copy:
We see many references to ABE for oop books. Try www.BookFinder.com : it searches all of ABE, plus several other extensive book sources. I consistently get more 'hits' than at ABE alone. Unfortunately right now there are none for this title -- but, keep trying.
