Varus
#1
I'm looking for a book about Lucius Varus that doesn't call him a loser or a failure or anything of that sort. I want as close to a clinical analysis of "The Varus Incident" as I can find.
Any suggestions?

The most recent book I read is the one mentioned by me a few threads ago ("Tony Clunn's book"). I enjoyed it. It does have defects but overall it was a good read. I hope a better edition comes out, especially with some updated conclusions.
ciao for now
p.s. If you read this book give us some feed back on your thoughts.
p.p.s. As you are new on the forum (by the way, BENVENUTO = welcome) maybe you haven't noticed that there are several past threads concerning Varus/Arminius. Also there is a very fine forum by Thiudareik Flavius, a Goth friend that moved to Australia
