Salvete, omnes. I wanted to let everyone know about a show on History Channel tonight called "Death Masks". The synopsis says they will cover Julius Caesar and Abraham Lincoln to name a few. I'm most interested in the Caesar part, of course. They will attempt to recreate the likeness using the mask. It could be a lot of fun.

Missed it! Any good?
Visne partem mei capere? Comminus agamus! * Me semper rogo, Quid faceret Iulius Caesar? * Confidence is a good thing! Overconfidence is too much of a good thing.

Sorry for taking so long to reply, Byron, but having recorded the program it has taken me til now to finally see it. Ve-ery in-ter-esting (Arte Johnson impression). The segment on Caesar was good if a bit inconclusive. They mentioned a full body impression that was made minutes after death which is lost to history. They did use 2 busts made during his lifetime that are believed to be fairly accurate. Once computerized it was remarkable. Practically a breathing head of the man himself.
They also did Napoleon, American gangster John Dillinger, and Abraham Lincoln.
Froensic scientists gave the play-by-play. Cool show.
