Equestrians commanding men of the senatorial class
#1
Chaps,

Another request for help, I'm afraid. I have a broad stripe legion tribune as a character who's been posted, with a legion cohort, (as a punishment for incompetence) to a detachment commanded by a narrow stripe cohort commander. My question is, how would he have been likely to react - especially if he were of an old and distinguished family? I'm trying not to get into quite the same vibe as the clash between Ballista and the young aristo in 'Fire in the East', but I can imagine that such a posting, even if only temporary, would have been galling to a young man used to almost universal fawning.

Opinions gratefully received.

Tony.
