The following is reprinted from the Legio XF website as a public service to Romans everywhere
As Primus Pilius the following reports of strange occurences have been given to me concerning the New Ulm, Minnesota event.
On September 20, 2009 at around midnight and into the early hours of the next morning a disturbance of unknown origin occurred at the Grand Hotel in New Ulm.
Noises were heard:
1. Curiously, Irish ballads and bagpipes emanating from the grand room of the Hotel.
2. Voices singing loudly in an apparent and pitiful attempt to sing the words to the Irish ballads.
3. Loud and thunderous stomping, much like the legendary "herd of elephants", though no particular rhythm could be discerned.
The local television station reported seeing strange things on their monitor camera on Minnesota Street, just down from the Hotel. A particularly frightening and grotesque face menaced the camera, only inches from it, apparently helped in this by 3-4 as of yet unidentified hooligans.
The entire liquor cabinet of the Grand Hotel was emptied and 5-6 bottles of spirits were found on the floor of the grand room, their contents mysteriously gone.
Dozens of cans of the local beer were found in a similar state and locality.
An entire large package of marshmallows was emptied and its contents found scattered in every conceivable place in the grand room and in the parking lot of the Hotel as well.
A light bulb in the grand room's chandalier was mysteriously shattered and glass found scattered about the floor. From the angle of the light bulb from all points in the room no physical explanation for this appears plausible, as the fixture protects the light bulb completely.
Numerous cups and glasses, some broken, were found strewn about the floor of the grand room.
A third story window of the Hotel was found open, and, upon careful examination, vomit was found running down the outside wall of the Hotel below the window sill.
So far, all Legio XF members have claimed to have been asleep during this disturbance, and, "heard nor seen nothing".
Faithfully submitted.
