This weekend Durham County Council are holding a Heritage Weekend, with the focus on the new visitor centre at Hardwick Park, Sedgefield, County Durham. They are hoping for 1,500 visitors to the park, a reconstructed mid 18th garden with Roman remains.

Comitatus will have five horses there, with the Taifali working in partnership with the Praesidiensis in a series of displays throughout the weekend. This is our tenth and last public display of the season. Luckily we seem to be in for yet another glorious weekend of weather.

As i only live a few miles up the road from Sedgefield,iv'e got every reason to pay you guys a visit,probably on the Saturday,look forward to seeing you there .

Good morning ioannes,

This is a simple 4th century cavalry show with a practice at 11 am, and shows at 1pm and 3pm. No fancy weapons or artillery, just horses, horses, more horses and a few stunt legionaries bravely acting as targets. I'm hoping for a relaxing weekend with wood smoke and BBQ's, sunshine playing on the surface of the ornamental lake, and most of all my children having fun. We'll be camping by the Temple of Minerva, a reconstructed 18th century folly.

Hi Guys(and Gals) ,glad i finally made it to one of your events,it was a joy to see so much Late Roman Cavalry in one place at the same time,most impressive,nice to talk with Mr Conyard as well,makes me wish i was still in the military instead of the Civil Bureaucracy(courtesy of a "busted" back),hope i can get to some more next season,if only to see the artillery in action.Thanks for an enjoyable day out!.

The organisers just notified me that an incredible 2,500 people came to see us. We had a rider suffering from dysentery, a demented horse and more running repairs than I care to remember but came through with flying colours.

The dysentry just proved how dedicated we are to recreating a authentic camp!
Hardwick Hall was a good event despite a few hic ups!
