Excavations at Marathon?
#1
Any publications regarding excavations at Marathon? Specifically I am wondering about the burial mound of the Athenians. Any idea what this looked like in antiquity, or did it always just look like a little hillock? Any excavations on the battlefield, finding arrow heads or other artifacts? Photos on the Internet show that unfortunately the battlefield seems to have changed rather radically since those days.

I seem to recall there were, but the reading I did was a few years back, so the memories are very fuzzy.
I seem to recall there is a bit of info in an Orsprey publication on the battlefield.
Unfortunately I am at work, so can't dig it out at the moment.
