Okay, I'm going to go for Saddo of the Year Award and venture that this picture was taken in the Cambridge Museum of Archaeology and Ethnology and that the object concerned is the lobate hinge from Santon, Norfolk (Thomas Fiv,43). Dating of a find like this, divorced from its original context, is of course impossible, but there is an obvious temptation to link it to the post-Boudiccan campaign of Paullinus - a temptation that Graham Webster* was unable to resist ;-)<br>
