Castellum wall found in Utrecht

A stretch of 17 metres of the castellum wall was found in Utrecht, The Netherlands.

While preparing the construction of a visitor centre below the Domplein (once the principia, then a church, but a square after it's collapse in the 17th century) archaeologists found the best-preserved Roman walls in The Netherlands, forming part of the North gate of the castellum. The remains will be visible for the public next December.
