Too bad they chose this date for the event as most of my group (including myself) were unable to attend due to exams

I am sorry you missed out on your groups visit to "de Muur van Hadrianus". I think the event date was chosen because it was the English schools mid term holiday week so as to maximise potential family visits to the event.
Perhaps next time the organisers will try to coordinate dates that avoid Belgian exam times !!!!. Anyway I hope the exams went well for you.
