Which of the two names is correct in the way that the Romans would have written it: Vitruvius or Vitrivius.
OR
Are they both correct?
Does anyone know what the significance of either name is?

I would think Paolo that if we had the complete name as you may know we could maybe connect it with the Clan or Family name ie such as some one belonging to the Vitruvii clan.

Well, Marcus Vitruvius Pollio was a Roman army engineer and writer of the first century BC.
I don't know any Vitrivius, sorry.

Thanks for the reply. I thought as much.
Well you both have helped me make my decision. That is all I needed.

Yes, I've only seen "Vitruvius" as well. But of course in Latin it would look like "Vitrvvivs", eh? Say that three times real fast!
