Could anybody post some pictures please, how the riveting tool of DSC looks like? Is this available anywhere in Europe?

- Am I wrong that DCS enclose a riveting tool with their hamata?

If no:
- How does it look like? May anyone post some pictures please?
- Is it available separately?

Perhaps....

The problem is, that I've just heard about this tool, which apparently is enclosed to theire hamata. I have no idea how it looks like... I hade a completely different idea how this would look like.

It seams that it is used by enclosing the rivet and than tappering with a hammer on the upper clow.

Small rivets in riveted mail you can also rivet/close the links using a pincer (so just punch them together). At least that's what I saw someone doing during an event last year.

That's indeed the tool they use. If the rivets are annealed you can easily set them with the pliers, without the need of hammering.

They don't supply them with the hamata, as far as I know. I have more than one of theirs anyway, and never recieved one.

I just grinded down the jaws of an old pliers/nippers (don't know the correct word), one with very long legs.
And drilled some holes in it Big Grin

So what does that tool do exactly? How does it work?

I use it to forcing the wedge rivets in the rings (medieval mail).
And then crush the pointed end.
I think it will work with round rivets to, never tried it
