Faintheart- the movie
#1
Just read a review on Amazon about Faintheart, the new British comedy about a Viking re-enactor.
http://www.amazon.co.uk/Faintheart-Kevi ... B001HN6POE

"I enjoyed the film, but for me it was too much of a generic rom-com - I was expecting something which actually embodied re-enactment rather than use it as a plot point.

To be specific: the re-enactment was shoddy, as were the costumes and weapons. Fighting consisted of people aiming for the opponents shields with their swords, and swinging wildly otherwise. Costumes and props were also generally substandard.

I also think that Eddie Mardens character would have easily won the `final battle`

However, if you're not concerned about realism in re-enactment then the film is pretty entertaining - The actors are great and the story is formulaic - It delivers especially if you are at least a bit of a geek! "

So a re-enactor is complaining that the film re-enactment of re-enactment was not authentically enough re-enacted? My brain hurts.......
