Helmet thickness variation measurements
#1
A friend of mine is learning how to raise a Roman 1 c CE helmet from sheet steel. He would like to have an idea of the thickness of the material at different parts of a helmet - at the neckguard, rim, eyebrows, etc. I know some of you handled or currently have an access to originals - does anyone happen to have such data for any of them?

I understand that logically a helmet should be thickest at the rim and thinnest at the top of the dome. But what about the neckguard? As thick as the rim or different? Of course, exact numbers for one of the helmets at least would be most helpful to get an idea.
